G. Eva Gao
Eva was born in Harbin, China, and grew up in Katy, Texas. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Houston, Bauer College of Business with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and minored in Chinese. Eva then earned her Master of Business Administration and Doctorate of Jurisprudence degrees from the University of Houston. In law school, Eva served as a Student Mentor for the Student Bar Association, participated as a Judge for the American Mock Trial Association, and completed the Mediation Training Certification Program. She was also chosen as an Academic Research Assistant for the Associate Dean, where she updated and edited various legal publications such as Know Your Rights; Texas Consumer Law, Cases and Materials; and The Journal for Consumer and Commercial Law. Upon being licensed to practice law, she worked at a boutique law firm, where she gained substantial practice in the fields of immigration and employment law.
Eva has exceptional courtroom presence and proficiency, both as a prosecutor and as an advocate for the defense. She has litigated a variety of criminal cases, ranging from Class C traffic code violations to Second Degree Felony aggravated robbery. As a judicial intern with the First Court of Appeals of Texas, she acquired superior legal research, writing, communication, and analytical skills. These skills are extremely useful as Eva is a crucial part of the post-trial motions and appellate team at Rene Gonzalez & Associates, PLLC. When not utilizing her experience and background to defend her clients, she enjoys meeting new people, spending time with her family, traveling, and continuously broadening her areas of knowledge in sciences and arts.
