Our History:
Rene Gonzalez and His Legacy
Rene S. Gonzalez graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1990. Rene then attended the University of Houston Law Center, and graduated with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 1993. Upon graduation, he formed Rene S. Gonzalez and Associates in Houston, Texas.
Over his career, Rene advocated on behalf of over 175,000 individuals, and was dedicated to defending members of his community against criminal charges and helping them seek justice. Through his efforts, Rene became one of the most admired and respected attorneys in the Houston area.
In 2008, Rene lost his long battle with cancer. Even though Rene is no longer with us, his legacy lives on through all those who knew him. His passion for protecting the rights and liberties of those in need of outstanding legal services are embraced by all of the attorneys of Rene S. Gonzalez & Associates, PLLC, who proudly carry on his name in their work.
The Firm Today
Arturo Fuentes joined the firm in 2004, and has been managing the firm since Rene’s passing. Arturo is the firm’s leading member, and uses his comprehensive understanding of the legal field and superior leadership ability to continuously expand and develop the firm. In 2005, Rene hired Raymond Coldren, who has since been an integral and essential component of the firm’s success. Andrew Valenson, the last attorney Rene personally selected, joined the firm in 2007. Andy’s significant contributions play a substantial role in establishing the firm’s recognition in Houston and beyond.
Together, Arturo, Ray, and Andy form the core of Rene Gonzalez & Associates, PLLC, and have all come to be respected and trusted by their peers and colleagues alike. They have imparted their vast knowledge, expansive experience, and excellent relationships onto all who join the Rene Gonzalez & Associates family, as they continue Rene’s mentoring tradition. Roy Rolong joined the firm in 2010, and is a spirited and dedicated advocate for his clients.
